10 Peaks Challenge | £3,205 Donated To The Christie Charity
Today, representatives from Glossop Cricket Club visited The Christie Charity in Manchester to officially hand over a cheque for £3,205, following our successful 10 Peaks Challenge in September.
Nine of us took on 10 of the Lake District’s toughest peaks around Buttermere, covering approximately 26km and climbing over 1,850 metres in some pretty challenging conditions, including winds gusting up to 40mph!
It was a fantastic effort from everyone involved, but more importantly, it was all for two causes that mean a great deal to us.
The Christie is a charity particularly close to our hearts at Glossop CC, and one we’ve proudly supported for many years. The incredible work they do makes a genuine difference to so many individuals and families, including people within our own club and community.
After fees, the challenge raised over £6400 in total , with the remaining funds supporting grassroots cricket at Glossop, helping us meet the growing demand across our junior boys’, girls’, men’s and women’s teams.
A massive thank you to everyone who took part, donated, shared our fundraising page or supported us along the way. Your generosity made this possible.
Special thanks also to Matt Cooke and the team at Mountain Bear Adventures for guiding us safely through the challenge.
10 peaks, 9 walkers, 2 fantastic causes and one brilliant collective effort!
