Glossop's Bright Start Not Enough versus Edenfield


A superb 127 run opening stand from Max Hatzoglou (56) and Chris Gill (3) gave Glossop hoping chasing 324, but Edenfields's pro Adeel Meo (189 & 4-53) proved the difference.


Glossop 251 all out (48.4 overs) - defeat by 72 runs.

2nd XI Win Nail-Biter At Saddleworth


Glossop 2nd XI held their nerve to beat Saddleworth by just 7 runs in a nail biter at Well-i-hole.


With the bat, John Stopford (51) and David Wile (43) set the tone.  Skipper David Allen (29) kept the scoreboard moving, with Glossop setting a target of 223-8.


With the ball, Joseph Bolton (4-49) and Chris Coll (3-33) were the heroes, backup by Joe Doody (2-40) who took the match-winning wicket.


Big win, big points, big team performance.

The Week Ahead


Tuesday 12th August sees the Vets at home to Hayfield Gnomads, 6pm start.


Saturday 16th August, the 1st XI travel to Belfields to take on Woodhouses.    The 2nd XI are at home to Milnrow.   Both matches start at 12:30pm.


On Sunday 17th August the 3rd XI make the journey to Stalybridge Cricket Club in the DCCL Sunday League North fixture.

After last years incredible success, the Glossop CC Super Sixes tournament is back! We are opening up registration for players to join now. Requirements to register: Glossop CC paying member or sponsor ⁠Age group 14 to 'Old' ⁠Cannot be regular 1st teamers As per last year, all abilities welcome! We are hoping to get the majority of names in by the end of February so we can plan with a little more time this year. Please get in touch with Adam Wilson directly if you'd like to play. Glossop Cricket Club Winter Walk March 2026

Come join us on our final Winter Walk of 2025/26 with a 5.6 mile hike up past the plantations, Glossop Low, and then up Cock Hill. Juniors, seniors, friends, family, and dogs are all welcome to join us on Saturday 21st March at 11am . The club will be open from 10am for light refreshments. Suitable walking boots, clothing, and equipment are recommended.
