On Sunday, we hosted our hugely successful first Women’s Softball Festival of 2026 – and what a fantastic turnout it was!

There was some excellent cricket on display throughout the day, with players showcasing great skill, determination, and sportsmanship. Even more impressive was the amazing camaraderie shown by every team, making the festival a brilliant celebration of the women’s game.

A special mention must go to Glossop’s newly formed Women’s Team, who stepped onto the pitch for their first-ever matches after just four training sessions together. The commitment, enthusiasm, and courage shown by the squad was incredible, and they should all be immensely proud of what they achieved.

A huge congratulations to Old Glossop, who lifted the trophy after a nail-biting final that kept everyone on the edge of their seats!   Sides from Dinting and Charlesworth played a big part in making the day a success.

Congratulations also to our Player of the Tournament, Netty, whose outstanding performances and contribution throughout the day made her a thoroughly deserving winner.

A massive thank you to all the players, coaches, volunteers, referees, and supporters who helped make the day such a success. We can’t wait to do it all again!
